Art Build Hotel Group took part in Odessa Hospitality Industry Forum

ABHG took part in annual Odessa hospitality Industry Forum (OHIF), held on 19-21 September, 2013. The event brought together experts of hotel real estate and restaurant business, and focused on current issues and tasks.

The Forum discussed issues such as hotel management, personnel management, sales technology and promotion of hotel and restaurant services, attracting international hotel chains, brand promotion, correct algorithm of hotel object implementation, etc. Furthermore, the event consisted of practical part: visiting of three Odessa hotels and unique tunnel of laundry complex “Stiroservis”. 

Alexei Evchenko, managing partner of ABHG, made a presentation on “How to build proper hotel and winning from the start”. According to Alexei: “Proper hotel is a hotel that has a clear concept, designed for a specific target audience, created by professional technologists, having industrial design and equipped with specialized hotel equipment and furniture. So that’s why, it is necessary to know all the answers while implementing the hotel object: how to develop a clear hotel concept, what is hotel technology, when and how to start object design, how to build and many others. It is important to know that the hotel is a specific type of real estate, where all decisions must be strictly specialized (industrial). Therefore, household solutions absolutely cannot be used”. 

The forum participants were actively involved in discussing the vital issues of the city (region, state) and development opportunities in tourism and hospitality industry.

Note: Today Odessa is one of the touristic attractive cities of Ukraine, where grows rapidly: beach, event and urban types of tourism. Of course, it directly affects the dynamics of the local hotel market. The most popular are economy and midscale hotel segments, that attracting the mass tourist. But in Odessa absolutely absent hotels under international brand. And in existing hotel objects dominates the old hotel room capacity that built in Soviet period.
