The main objectives of the Board for the coming years is the development of a "Green" regulatory framework, market development of "Green" materials and services, increase customer awareness and debunking myths about what "Green" building such as – it is very expensive and not effective.
As part of the briefing, a presentation was shown which compiled various facts and figures attained by the World Green Building Council (WorldGBC), according to which "Green" building facilitates:
- the overall increase in the value of the asset; - an increase in occupancy of the building by an average of 23%; - reduce energy costs by 15 to 40%; - reduce operating costs by 20-30%; - to increase rents by 25%; - to improve the overall performance of staff by 18%; - to reduce the number of employee hospital visits by 8.5% etc. The cost of initial investment in "Green" building exceeds the budget of a conventional building by an average of only 12%, and the average payback period is about 8 years.
