ArtBuild Hotel Group took part in the Lviv Hospitality Forum

ArtBuild Hotel Group took part in the first annual forum of the Lviv hospitality industry (Lviv Hospitality Industry Forum, LHIF), held on 15-17 May. The event brought together professionals active in the hospitality real estate markets and included the participation of local government officials, including the Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovoy.

The forum discussed issues such as the image of Lviv after Euro 2012, sales technology and promotion of hotel and restaurant services, human resources, attracting international hotel chains, brand promotion, etc.

 

Alexei Evchenko, managing partner of ABHG, made a presentation on "How to build a successful internationally branded hotel and remain independent." According to Alexei: "International experience shows that the international brand, coupled with effective third-party management are the key elements in creating a successful hotel. The advantages of an international brand include awareness, compliance with international standards of quality, guarantee a certain level of hotel experience, developing using the right hotel technology, a higher occupancy rate (10-15%), and the loyalty of foreign tourists. This is not to say that it is better or worse – being an individual hotel or part of a chain. It is important at the design stage to clearly understand the concept and go along the planned path. With regard to the independence of the hotel under an international brand, this can only take place if a franchise or license is purchased as opposed to when the brand also includes their management."

 

The forum participants were actively involved in the discussions, sharing their experience, discussing the pressing issues of the city (region, state) and development opportunities in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Background: Today Lviv is one of the fastest growing and attractive tourist cities in Ukraine, which directly affects the dynamics of the local market within the industry. The emergence of new hotel projects actively promotes the development of different types of tourism: event-driven, objective, and urban/city. The most popular hotel sectors are economy, midscale, and upper upscale, attracting primarily tourists. At the same time Lviv has only realized one hotel under an international brand – Ramada.
